Wearing Western Belt Buckles and Bolos

Belt buckles are generally worn as part of the traditional ‘ranch hand style’. This outfit consists of clothes tough enough to withstand the elements, but which also purvey a strong sense of western style. Long, snug-fitting jeans that bunch at the bottom are tucked into cowboy boots, whilst the belt’s buckle takes prominent place in-between these and a crisply ironed and tucked in western-style shirt. A cowboy hat completes the set – felt in winter, straw in summer.

Bolo ties are used to complement further such an outfit, often to ‘upgrade’ the look, somewhat. To render the wearer more elegant, a matching belt buckle or bolo tie may be worn, and the two will preferably be crafted from sterling silver.

Many celebrities have been seen sporting western-style belt buckles and bolo ties. To name just a few - Chuck Norris, Ken Norton, Mike Modano, Gene Autry, Roy Rodgers, and John Travolta.
